    When we have failed

On the night when Jesus was going to be betrayed and taken to trial and crucified, we read how Jesus knew that Peter was going to fail by denying he ever knew him (Luke 22:31,32) but Jesus encouraged Peter saying that he had been praying for him and that when he had repented that he should go and encourage the other disciples. He also mentioned that the devil wanted to sift him as wheat. We must remember God's heart is to pray for us and encourage us, it is the enemy's intention to sift like wheat. The enemy's today is still the same to sift us like wheat when we desire to follow Jesus. But God still prays and encourages us in our failures asking us to come back to Him.

There was one time Peter asked the Lord whether it would be good enough to forgive a brother who sinned against him seven times. Jesus asked him to forgive the brother who sinned against him seventy times seven if he sought forgiveness. And if God asks Peter to forgive his brother so many times, how much more is God going to forgive us when we confess our sins and repent of our sins and come to the Lord. We might have failed so many times in a specific area, but we can come to the Lord with a repentant heart and ask for His forgiveness.

    Psalm 37:23,24
The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

The enemy always wants you to think that God doesn't have your best intentions at heart when He does things. Scriptures say in Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

When God told Adam and Eve not to eat from the fruit in the garden, the enemy convinced them God didn't have their best intention at heart and that's why He didn't permit them eat of the tree. We must not be ignorant of the devil's schemes. (2 Corinthians 2:11)

If you have failed, if you are struggling with sin and have a desire to turn from your sins. Come to the Lord and ask Him to forgive you of your sins and He will. (I John 1:9)

"If I seek to please men I can not be a servant of God"

    Galations 1:10
